I played the Witch class every moment I had available since Path of Exile became available in early release last Friday (and you can check it out because I stream all of it live on Youtube, click: here).
I am having a blast! What an awesome game.
I haven’t played POE1 but I do really like the game. Large maps, a lot of bosses, difficult, great item system and mechanics and super cool character classes.
I am currently level 28ish and in Act 2, by now I changed my build and spec numerous times and keep switching between skills, curses, minions and spells.
This game is much closer to traditional RPG games and something like Elden Ring than anything else. It can’t be compared with Diablo 4, totally different type of game. Way more focussed on skill, damage avoidance and strategy than just button bashing and speed running bosses or instances.
The launch had some challenges, which is mainly due to the fact 1,000,000+ people wanted to play it on release and the game has some bugs and I had about 3 crashes (of which 1 right at the point I was about to defeat a boss 
). But I am willing to accept that because it is early access.
