The Witch Class

The Witch, Mistress of Death and Decay, is a master of minions and dark spells in Path of Exile 2. She wields formidable power, conjuring undead hordes and weaving spells to unleash devastation upon her enemies. The Witch harnesses two primary resources: Mana and Spirit. Spirit, drawn from weapons (and potentially also from gear and/or certain gems), and fuels her ability to summon minions, allowing her to maintain control over her necrotic army as she spreads chaos in her wake.

Minions

In Path of Exile 2, minions come in two main types: permanent and temporary. Permanent minions are sustained by weapon affixes or Spirit, while temporary minions are summoned through specific actions, like casting the spell Unearth. When Unearth strikes a corpse or kills a monster, it raises a bone construct—a low-health minion with a short lifespan that can be summoned in large numbers. Minions don’t require manual summoning and will automatically revive after a short delay if no other minion has died recently. Players can command their minions to move, attack, or interact with objects like chests and doors. Minions also possess unique command skills; for instance, the Sniper minion’s Gas Arrow creates a damaging poison cloud in a targeted area, dealing damage over time to enemies within it.

Zombies

Summoning a zombie requires a corpse, and unlike other minions, zombies do not automatically revive when they die. However, they have significantly higher health, making them more durable in battle.

Skeletal Arsonist

The Skeletal Arsonist can throw fire grenades and also detonate low-health minions under the player’s control.

Skeletal Reavers

Skeletal Reavers are high-DPS minions unlocked in higher-level areas. They possess an enrage buff that further boosts their DPS but gradually drains their health.

Skeletal Cleric

Skeletal Clerics can heal and revive minions, creating strong synergy when paired with Reavers, whose enrage buff gradually drains their health.

Storm Mage

The Storm Mage can cast Lightning Storm, striking all fallen skeletons in your army and damaging any monsters standing over or near them.

Spells and Debuffs

Contagion

The Contagion debuff damages monsters over time and spreads to nearby enemies when an infected monster dies. If a minion is summoned from an infected corpse, it becomes an infected minion. This minion can then spread the infection further by attacking other monsters.

Essence Drain

Essence Drain targets a single enemy, gradually reducing its health over time. This debuff synergizes with Contagion, spreading to nearby monsters already infected by Contagion.

Bone Storm

Bone Storm is a channeled skill that generates floating shards of bone, which are then launched as projectiles at enemies.

Offerings

Pain Offering

Offering skills sacrifice a skeleton by impaling it on a massive spear, which buffs all other minions. This buff increases the speed and damage output of your minion army.

Profane Ritual

This spell consumes unused corpses to generate a power charge, which can be used to enhance other spells. For example, power charges from Profane Rituals can strengthen Zombies, allowing them to be summoned even without a dead monster. Additionally, Bone Storm becomes significantly more powerful when fueled by a power charge from Profane Ritual.

Gems

Bind Spectre

The Bind Spectre gem allows you to summon any fallen enemy as a minion. The amount of Spirit required to use Bind Spectre varies based on the strength of the monster.
