The last couple of days I was able to play some Satisfactory, which came out of Early Access on September 10th.
Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game developed by Coffee Stain Studios. Players assume the role of an engineer tasked with exploring an alien planet to gather resources, automate production, and build complex factories. The game emphasizes exploration and creativity, allowing players to design sprawling production lines, manage logistics, and optimize resource usage. As they progress, players can unlock new technologies and expand their factories, all while dealing with the planet’s wildlife and environmental challenges. The game combines elements of strategy, exploration, and resource management in a visually stunning 3D world.
The game has an addictive game play loop, you basically spent your time to: gather resources, covert resources into parts, automate the gathering of resources and production of parts to hit progression targets to unlock better equipment/buildings/perks. While going through the motion of the game you obviously run into challenges. Power generation is a thing I ran into early on in the game but also access to specific resources.
The game is visually stunning. The buildings and creatures are well designs and esthetically pleasing to look at and the world invites you to explore and gather resources. Below you see a version of my production site which is in it infancy but took me about 11 hours to setup
I would currently give Satisfactory an 8 out of 10 score. If you are looking for a new game and you are into the survival, exploration, base building games you should give this one a try.
I will update this topic while playing this game and let you know if my review score changes while I progress through the game.
